Feverfew Daisies Linocut

Feverfew Daisies Linocut

An experimental linocut featuring feverfew daisies, similar to the common daisy (you know, like the ones we would pick and turn into daisy chains) but feverfew daisies have larger petals, bigger leaves and all together have more presence. I love wild flowers, they remind me of simpler times, moments of calm and peace. Perhaps it's nostalgia but the humble daisy, in all it's variations, will always have a special place in my heart.

This print, which I've self-labelled as experiemental because I've played around with negative and postive space in the same block, which isn't typical of my style. I carved away some space around the flowers to give the impression of light peeping through the density of the leaves. The daisy petals have also been cleared to imply the light/white colour of petals, distinguishing them from the leaves and foliage.
