This week I’ve been working on dandelions and all their glorious forms. There’s something special about wild flowers, maybe it’s the determination they have to grow wherever they please, especially the tenacious dandelion flower. Similar to my Dog Rose linocut, I’ve carved this design from Japanese vinyl lino block with the intention of printing this as a repeat onto fabric, lengthways. This meant after drawing my initial design, I had to rework the design so it would repeat seamlessly as a continuous pattern. The finally print will be hand printed onto cotton fabric before being worked into textiles for the home
Every Thursday, I invite you into my Norfolk studio to share freshly printed botanical treasures, the hedgerow wanderings that inspired them, and gentle seasonal reflections from my creative journey. It's a cosy weekly note filled with countryside charm and printmaking magic.
