I love carving food as much as I love carving flowers. This week’s entry is a simple crop, found worldwide, the humble corn-on-the-cob. This piece was carved from Japanese Vinyl lino and printed using my craft press (an Xcut Xpress), craft presses are the perfect home studio press, small but mighty enough to produce a clean print. When I design a linocut to print onto paper, rather than fabric, Japanese vinyl is my go to lino block. It shows fine lines and details beautifully, plus cleaning up is a cinch, perfect if you print open editions.
Every Thursday, I invite you into my Norfolk studio to share freshly printed botanical treasures, the hedgerow wanderings that inspired them, and gentle seasonal reflections from my creative journey. It's a cosy weekly note filled with countryside charm and printmaking magic.
