It’s the final week of January and I’ve managed to stay on task - just! A short and sweet entry for week 4 is a modern floral design, loosely based on a daisy/marigold type flower. I carved this from a new type of softcut lino and it carves buttery smooth, seems to hold its edges well and printed nice and crisp. I’m not sure what I’ll do with this design yet but it’s likely I’ll take the finished print into photoshop and rework it into a repeating pattern for fabrics and wallpaper.
Every Thursday, I invite you into my Norfolk studio to share freshly printed botanical treasures, the hedgerow wanderings that inspired them, and gentle seasonal reflections from my creative journey. It's a cosy weekly note filled with countryside charm and printmaking magic.
