'A Sprig of Shamrock', shamrock also known as young clover or trefoil, is the national flower of Ireland. Legend has it that Ireland's patron saint, St. Patrick used the three petals of the shamrock to illustrate the mysteries of the Holy Trinity. Each leaf represented the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
